Baileys Irish cream is a liqueur that has nutty, toasty and nougat aromas. It has a smooth satiny entry leads to a lightly sweet, plush medium-to full-bodied palate with balanced layers of cream, toasted nuts, brown spice, and a breath of lightly-aged whiskey.
It is the original Irish cream invented by a team led by Tom Jago for Gilbeys of Ireland. Tom Jago, a product-development executive at International Distillers & Vintners, in 1973 was looking for a new drink to be produced by the London-based company’s Irish arm. He asked two consultants to brainstorm.
Their first attempt was done with a kitchen mixer, but both substances soon separated when bottled, despite being absolutely sweet to the palate. Finally, on November 26th 1974, by way of an accident, Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur was born.
A breakthrough liquid innovation Baileys Irish Cream was the first of its kind in the marketplace: success quickly followed with significant growth leading it to become one of the most successful spirits brands in the world.
Baileys Irish Cream
A beverage is a liquid designed for consumption, often crafted to have a pleasing flavor, such as an alcoholic drink. History, in contrast, is a systematic record of events, particularly those affecting a nation, institution, science, or art, usually with an analysis of their causes. Thus, the history of beverages entails a detailed and organized account of the evolution of various drinks over time.
