Dutch Lady Milk Industries

Dutch Lady was formerly known as Pacific Milk Industries in 1963. Dutch Lady Milk Industries was granted five year license from Friesland Brands BV to use propriety intellectual property, including trademarks and know-how.

Friesland Brands BV is a wholly subsidiary of the Dutch company, Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods Holding NV, that develops, produces and sells a variety of branded dairy products.

Friesland Brands BV was formed in December 1997 as a result of the merger of four large dairy cooperatives: Coberco, Friesland Dairy Foods, Twee Provicien, and De Zuid-Oost-Hock.

The merger has been explained as cheese-market driven, not as milk volume-driven. The company said that these four cooperatives had a European cheese market share of about 15%.

In December 2008 Friesland Foods and Campina merged in into FrieslandCampina. Dutch Lady became a subsidiary of FrieslandCampina.

Dutch Lady Milk Industries is a Malaysian company that produces and sells sweetened condensed milk, milk powder, dairy products and fruit juice drinks.

The company was established in 1965, to replace imported sweetened condensed milk with domestically produced products. At that time sweetened condensed milk was imported wholesale from its parent company in Holland. One of the brands was Dutch Baby Brand.

In 1983, the company changed its name from Dutch Baby Milk to Dutch Lady.
